Awake the Wolves...

Comments: The song "Awake the Wolves " is one of the more "gothic" ones I have written. It deals with fears, nightmares, fear to live, fear to go on, mistakes from the past that haunt me and embitter my life. I wrote this song, after hearing the masterpiece "Monolith", from Mortiis. I believe all the decadent poetry I have ever wrote was either inspired by Mortiis, with whose poetry I feel endless identification. Well, except his first albums, of course...

Why does it always come to me at nights?
This coldness, that cuddles me...
And all my lies run for a hide,
As the starlight shows the wrong path.

This silence awakes the wolves
And shadows run away from their cold eyes.
For the first time my soul regrets,
Fearful of the hungry silhouettes...

Don`t let them chase me anew.
Although they all belong to me.
With a congealed heart,
I`m treading down the pain.
I`ve turned my back to light again.

The bird in me has froze into a monolith.
Would I ever kill the will to do not breathe?

Don`t let them chase me anew.
Although they all belong to me.
With a congealed heart,
I`m treading down the pain.
I`ve turned my back to light again.
